I don't usually do this, and have not written anything a poem for at least 40 years. But here is my poem;
Poem for Elizabeth
Control over your life and destiny went
that awful diagnosis day.
You submitted to all it threw at you
but kept on fighting.
You rode the rollercoaster between remission
and despair
and did so
with such courage
and bloody minded determination,
fierce in your desire to stick around,
for your loved ones.
Rest now,
released,
at peace,
big sister.
